Ben Jawai
Building More Than a Design
For Ben Jawai, Design PNG became an opportunity to turn his creativity into something that made a meaningful difference in his life and the lives of his family.
Through Design PNG, Ben's artwork was transformed into products that could be worn and appreciated by Papua New Guineans.
As products featuring his designs were sold, Ben earned royalties from his creativity. He chose to put those earnings towards something important to him: building a home for his family.
What started with an idea and a piece of artwork had contributed towards creating something lasting for the people closest to him.
Ben's journey shows the real impact that can be created when local creativity is recognised and given commercial value.
Behind every Design PNG product is a Papua New Guinean designer, their creativity and their story.
