For Shilla Mulina, inspiration comes from the beauty, colours and identity found throughout Papua New Guinea.
Through her creativity, Shilla transforms the things she sees around her into artwork, giving familiar elements of PNG a fresh expression through design. Design PNG gave her the opportunity to take that creativity further.
One of the most rewarding moments for Shilla was seeing her artwork transformed into something people could actually wear. A design that once existed only as an idea had become a real product displayed in Jack's of PNG stores.
Seeing other Papua New Guineans wearing her designs gave her a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Through Design PNG, Shilla's artwork was given a platform to be seen, recognised and appreciated by a wider audience.
