A Passion That Found Its Way Back
Louis Sivina's passion for design began when he was just six years old. Drawing with pencils, pens and colours became a way for him to express himself and the experiences around him.
In 2022, Louis returned to Papua New Guinea after studying Aeronautical Engineering in China. While looking for employment, he discovered the Design PNG competition and decided to submit one of his designs.
Although he did not win that year, Jack's of PNG later contacted him and commissioned one of his designs. The earnings from its sales were reinvested into a Samsung tablet to help him develop his digital design skills.
Growing Through Design PNG
Through Design PNG, Louis continued to grow as a designer and gained greater exposure for his work.
For Louis, seeing Papua New Guineans wearing something that began as an idea in his sketchbook is a meaningful part of his journey.
